Alfa Romeo Giulia is scheduled to debut in 2014

The Italian car producer, Alfa Romeo is preparing a new sedan from D class. The car named Giulia is based on the modified Giulietta platform and will be on the market in 2014. The new model is an important step made by Italians to revive their sales. Also the new car will compete directly with BMW 3 Series.

In technical terms, the new Giulia will have the 1.4 MultiAir engine with direct injection and turbocharger with 120 hp and the 1.8 TDi engine, which include an enhanced version found on Brera and 159 models. In addition to MultiAir turbo engines, the Alfa Romeo of diesels will also be taken from Fiat Powertrain Technologies portfolio. The engines will be combined with either 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions or with a 7-speed automatic transmission TCT.

More than that, with optional all-wheel drive system will be offered the Pentastar V6 engine from Chrysler Group. It is possible that this version and other engines from Alfa Romeo Giulia to not be offered on the Italian market because the portfolio will not be shared with Fiat Group.

But the future plans of Alfa Romeo are not so simple. After the debut of Giulia, they will have in plan the revived version of Spider and between those two models; the Italian brand will launch the roadster developed in cooperation with Mazda, the 4C model.  With this two models Alfa Romeo will go on the United States market for certainly, because plans for the European one they haven`t announced anything until now.

If just in autumn of this year will be finished the appearance, the car will be officially presented at the middle of next year. Alfa Romeo will use a platform from Dodge Dart, with a longer wheelbase and many other changes, the Americans from Dodge will take the platform from the Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
