Just 2.15 seconds to sprint 0-100 km / h for an electric vehicle
If you think that the electric cars are slower, you need to know that a team of students from Delft University of Technology has worked at the fastest electric vehicle in the world. This is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km / h in just 2.15 seconds. By this they actually built the fastest electric car in the world. This model is more advanced than the fastest car which uses the conventional powertrain, Ariel Atom V8, which can touch 100 km / h in 2.3 seconds.
The big secret of this performance is the low overall mass, of only 145 kg and the situated electric motor inside the wheels which can offer a power of 135 hp. And, among all these, they have choose for tests the easiest student to drive the vehicle o have the perfect power / weight ratio.
The chassis used was taken from the Delft Formula Student race car and is characterized by a low weight and it is able to adapt a variety of engines, resulting a model for competition but respecting the rules of the organizers.
