Mercedes has prepared a facelift for the CLS model
The German car producer has prepared for the CLS a new restyling for its second generation. This one will debut at the Festival of Speed at Goodwood and comes with LED taillights and new graphics, a front grille, new optional packages to increase customization options, a multimedia system and an automatic transmission with nine steps.
The engines available comply with Euro6 range and has also a 2.1-liter diesel engine for the entry-level version that develops 170hp and 400 Nm. If the peak version is the CLS400 with a V6 twin-turbo 3.0-liter engine the most powerful one is the V8 twin-turbo 5.5-liter that is offered with a package performance that can deliver 585 hp.
The new CLS comes with more changes, among these is the MultiBeam technology that integrates 24 individual LEDs that can be targeted to a specific area, according to analyzes conducted by the on-board sensors and camera mounted in the windshield. These LEDs had 255 light levels of intensity and their regulation is restored to 100 times per second.
More, the German car comes with a redesigned steering wheel and a screen diagonal of 20.3 inches. Among other novelties, the car comes with a new multimedia system more improved with dedicated applications and a 3D navigation system.
Regarding the nine-gear automatic transmission will be available for four versions, the CLS 220 BlueTEC, 250 BlueTEC, 350 BlueTEC and the CLS 500.
