Nissan Pulsar, the new Japanese hatchback was revealed
First pictures with the new hatchback, that comes as first successor of Almera have been unveiled. This model is actually the third compact in the current portfolio of Japanese car producer and thru this model they replaces the Almera place that Nissan dropped when they have released Qashqai model.
This new Nissan Pulsar was designed at Nissan Technical Centre in Bedfordshire, United Kingdom, and the production process will be ensured by Renault-Nissan plant in Barcelona, Spain. To conquer new customers this new model relies on the space provided for its passengers thru the largest wheelbase in the segment, about 2,700 mm and more space for the rear seats occupants.
First step for Pulsar model is to be revealed as a hatchback with five doors, more details about other versions as a convertible, a coupe or a wagon are not, for now, released.
Anyway, regarding the engines that comes for the new member of Japanese manufacturer, are three, the 1.2 DIG –S, the 1.5 dCi and the 1.6 DIG –T, that are able to develop between 110 and 190 horsepower, while the more powerful 1.6-liter turbo unit will be available just from 2015. Among the engines, the safety systems are also borrowed from other models of the brand and are embedded in the new concept called Nissan Safety Shield.
Said Shiro Nakamura, head of design of the Japanese brand, said that “Nissan was, at its beginning, a brand with sport features. Along the way we lost from this characteristc. Therefore we intend to regain sportsmanship.”. Actually, Pulsar is first non-SUV model that is equipped with V-shaped grille released by X-Trail and Qashqai model.
